An introduction to TownSq
18 July 2019
To better serve Swan Point property owners, Community Management Corporation (CMC) has launched their enterprise software system called TownSq. TownSq allows Swan Point homeowners to access SPPOA documents, communicate with CMC, manage their accounts, and pay their bi-annual dues online. There is even a TownSQ app to support smart phone access to the new system. In addition, TownSq allows the SPPOA to set-up and maintain our own public website. Users will find the look and feel of TownSq much different from the old SPPOA website, but it has the same functionality and much more.
There are two faces to TownSq; first is a public website that has information about our community, organizations, photos, and a calendar of events. The URL for this site is www.swanpt.com (same as the old SPPOA website). No login or password is required to view this site. With the implementation of TownSQ the previous SPPOA web page is no longer available. The old web page provided access to SPPOA documents, photos, and information about community events. These functions are now incorporated into the TownSq system. The SPPOA has been working with CMC to transfer content from the old site to TownSq, and is now nearly complete. However, there is more to do if we are to take full advantage of all that TownSq has to offer, so please be patient.
The second face of TownSq is a secure website, with access limited to Swan Point property owners. To access this website, property owners must first register using their CMC account number and set-up a user name and password. You can find your account number on your bi-annual Account Statement from Associa/CMC. Login or register by clicking the "login" icon at the top of the public - website, www.swanpt.com. You first need to register, so click on the "Need to register?" text below the green "login" bar. At the prompt, enter your account number (without leading zeros or dash mark) and zip code (20645). Your name should pop up and prompt you to set-up a user name (email address) and password. Once logged into the secure website, you can review your account, initiate payment, maintain your contact information, and view or download SPPOA documents.
One drawback with TownSq is that the current version works best only with the Google Chrome browser. This is primarily an issue with the secure side of TownSq. The public face of TownSq works well with all browsers. You can download the chrome browser for free at the following website: https://www.google.com/chrome/
After you have registered and established your user name and password, you should review and complete your profile information. You will also want to set up your individual Opt In/Opt Out preferences for sharing your address, phone and email.
- Click on the pull-down menu by your name in the upper right-hand corner.
- Click on “Edit profile” and complete your profile information.
- Scroll down on the page until you see “PRIVACY”. In this section you may choose to "Opt-In" or "Opt-Out" by clicking the toggle on or off next to: "Show my address", "Show my Telephone", and "Show my email".
- Click “Save”
By Opting-In, your neighbors will be able to search for and view your information by clicking the "Residents" Tab on the left-hand side under the "Feed" column. Those that do not wish to have their information accessible to the Swan Point Community can continue to Opt-Out.
